Bestselling authors Shelia Lipsey & Daphine Glenn Robinson: MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!
What had started off as one of Conversations Book Club's most ambitious weekends has ended with a resounding MISSION ACCOMPLISHED.
Hosting Bestselling authors Shelia E. Lipsey and Daphine Glenn Robinson has been one of the most rewarding events that we have had this month, second only to the launch of our "Conversations LIVE!" internet radio program. They have enjoyed full days of activities, each one more satisfying than the last.
If you are keeping tabs, they are our 18th and 19th authors to host this year. Now, let's recap the weekend:
It all began with "Subway Conversations" Book Club on Thursday, September 13, 2007 when we met with author Shelia E. Lipsey to discuss her book INTO EACH LIFE.
On Friday, September 14, 2007 both Lipsey and Daphine Glenn Robinson took to the road, meeting fans and interested ones at the offices of The Jackson Advocate, Subway Restaurant in Pearl, the Cookie Net in Jackson, Waldenbooks Metrocenter and Belhaven College.
On Saturday, September 15, 2007 we enjoyed "Breakfastwithbooks" at McDonalds inside of the Walmart in Pearl/Brandon then headed to meet Dr. Charlie Gaulden and the residents of the Shady Creek Trailer Park. From there we headed to the PEG Network (Channel 18) to do two interviews thanks to Ken Stiggers, then to Waldenbooks Metrocenter for another booksigning before heading to Richard Wright Library for yet another meet and greet. Afer getting a quick break, we headed back to Subway for "Spoken Word Saturdays" and were greeted with more love and affection from all in attendance! Whether it was singing, dancing, poetry or the reading from the authors, we all left with something that had a smile on our faces.
We put Ms. Robinson on a plane early Sunday morning--- but not without a great surprise: Thanks to the support of our partner Waldenbooks Metrocenter, author Daphine Glenn Robinson's book BROTHERLY LOVE AND BETRAYAL will be on the shelves of the store before the end of the month.
This will make the store the ONLY PLACE IN MISSISSIPPI where her book can be purchased. This is good news, since her book has been chosen as the "Book of the Month" for the Inspirational Conversations Book Club that meets at Subway every 3rd Sunday.
As for Ms. Lipsey, her book SIN-SATIABLE has been chosen as our next book in the "Subway Conversations" Book club---and we will be ending the weekend on Sunday, September 16, 2007 with the Inspirational Book Club discussing her book INTO EACH LIFE.
Again, thank you to all of the special men and women who made this weekend resounding success. None of what we have accomplished would be possible without your love and support. Enjoy your day. Enjoy your life. Enjoy your world.
